You do not need any other insurance if you take the premium on this website.

Just like you, we rented a car through an intermediary institution and paid a fee for insurance on site. But when we went to buy the car, the rental company asked us for 900€ for insurance. What we paid was only valid for the insurance on the website.
It's becuase your do not have a Credit Card. That the supplier, at the desk will try and get you to pay extra.
We don't want to experience the same problem again. That's why I don't want to make a reservation, without clarifying this issue.
If you had a Credit Card this issue would not arise.
Once again, I can say that if you take the etxra insurance online then YOU DO NOT need any other insurance. BUT if you are unsure, then just wait and take it at the desk.
For example, it says in the T&C of the AXA insurance:-
AVIS may ask you to buy insurance at the rental counter. If you add Premium Insurance you can refuse insurance at the rental counter with confidence. Premium Insurance covers up to a maximum total policy limit of € 3,000 if there is damage or theft of the car during the rental period. When you book a car and add Premium Insurance, Limited cover is also included.
